Future Programme

Meetings start at 8:00pm (bar opens 7:30pm) How to find us

February 8th 2010 Clive Sutherland - The Islands of the English Channel.

One of the special experiences that can be enjoyed exclusively by the cruising yachtsman is to explore the many islands within reach of our shores.
Many of these islands are in the Channel, and although some have alternative means of access, they can often be quite difficult to get to unless you have a boat of your own.
Clive has visited many, but not all, of these islands and he will be telling us about them and showing a few of the pictures he and others have taken.

March 8th 2010 Chris Satchwell - Why buy when you can hire? Our speaker is Chris Satchwell, Commercial Director of Sunsail World Wide Sailing. Chris shares a 32' in the Solent and has an 18' day sailor on Hayling Island. This talk maybe particularly appropriate for the members who wish to charter and take a yacht to the Club’s summer gathering at Cowes in June.

April 12th 2010 Annual General Meeting. Please contact Bob Dyer to add agenda items. Followed by Mike Coombes – Collecting our new boat. Mike and Barbara purchased an Island Packet 350 in May. The yacht was in the Harbour at Watchet in Somerset – 400 miles from their mooring in Gosport. The estimated time for delivery was four to five days. Due to unexpected severe weather it took eleven!

May 10th 2010 Roger Shaw - Lessons learned as a Skipper over 20,000 miles
