About the Club
Anyone who is interested in salt-water cruising under sail is welcome to join White Horse Cruising Club. There is no joining fee, and no requirement to be proposed by a member. There is no need to be a boat owner: many of our members don't own a boat. Meetings take place on the second Monday of the month. Meetings start at 8:00pm (bar opens 7:30pm)
The website has the latest information and details about whats
on, in addition to other items of interest and marine links.

You can send an annual subscription (see below), or simply turn up to a meeting,
ask for a club officer, and introduce yourself. You will find that we are a
very informal outfit.
If you have difficulties in getting to the club, phone one of the officers shown below, and we will do our best to find a member who lives near you who can offer a lift.
We don't charge those making their first visit to the club, but if they like
the look of us, we hope they will
then join.
The subscription year runs from September to August, and full membership of WHCC is £15 for the year.
Each additional member at the same address pays just £10.
For new members joining after New Year, those rates are halved..
Our Membership Secretary, Clive Sutherland, will be happy to collect your sub., by cheque or in cash, at any of the club meetings.
However, this becomes rather a rush, particularly in the early part of our season, and he would prefer subscriptions to be sent in by post beforehand, if possible.
You can pay your sub, by cash or cheque at any club meeting
(when completing the form), or you
can
return the form by post to the Membership
Secretary with a cheque made out to WHCC (not cash), sent to -
Clive Sutherland, West Hanney, OX12 0LH
You can contact Clive on 01235 868396, or at clive@jcsutherland.wanadoo.co.uk
. Please include your first name (the name you prefer to be called by), and
your partner's too, if he/she joins. If you're on e-mail, add that address.
Many couples come to our meetings, we're happy to say, and if they do we ask
them both to pay a sub. as members.
Finding
your way to East Hanney.
If you click here MAPS (Hanney) and wait a moment for the download, you will get to mapping of the Hanney area, Southwest of Abingdon, (on three different scales). There's a target ring on each map showing the area to head for.
The maps should be printable on a black-and-white or colour printer, best in landscape mode and not "economy" printing.
East Hanney is just off the main Oxford - Wantage road, A338, well signposted. The southern of the two turnoffs is best.
Take the winding road through the village, toward West Hanney, and you can't miss the British Legion building, which is on your right.
If you get to a very sharp right turn over a narrow bridge, you've just passed it!
There's plenty of parking outside the hall and it's all on one level, so wheelchair access should be simple.
The parking ought to be adequate if it's used sensibly, but it's not marked or lit well.
Please tuck your car toward the edges if you can, and be careful to avoid blocking the path of others.
